A woman printing plants onto linen at a wooden table

Craft

Natural dyes from onions, walnuts and leaves, taught by hand in the old dye house.

Natural dyes

Onion skins, walnuts, flowers, leaves: from the kitchen and the grounds, they turn into warm yellows, ochres, rusts and browns on linen and cotton.

Simple ingredients

Nothing exotic: what you can gather, peel or pick. The colour comes slowly, and it is never quite the same twice.

Leaf prints

Print leaves from the grounds on cards, tea towels and napkins. A gentle workshop for every level.

Two ways in

A taste of craft

One or two short sessions woven into a stay: a dye bath of onion skins or walnuts, a leaf print. Nothing to prepare, no experience needed.

A real workshop

A weekend or several days of guided making, with the rooms, the table and the grounds all around. You leave with your own pieces and the know-how to repeat them.

Craft is always part of an overnight stay for groups. We do not offer day visits. See our creative retreats.

La Manufacture du Blanc

Our old dye house is becoming a textile workshop, a young project still taking shape. It is where the baths, the tables and the drying lines live.
